Goth Subcultures

So this is just a general overview of the different styles of music and clothing of different goth subcultures. By no means does this page cover all of them or is accurate. I never like to dress only trad goth or only Victorian. I switch it up all the time. I let myself create my own style. But looking at these quick descriptions can be really helpful.
I took a lot of the pictures and the info form the amazing site Goth (stereo) Types

from Goth stereo types
The Trad (traditional) Goth
Starting in the 80's, the original goths favor the earliest days of the goth scene.
Fashion is based heavily on the Punk era but different. Fishnets, heavy makeup, huge mohawks and back combs, leather and band tees.
Music is mainly from the 80's. Soixsie and the banshees and the Sisters of Mercy are widely popular

The Romantic Goth
Ah, romantics you gotta love them. Instead of idolizing the original goth scene they focus on the dark and mysterious. Instead of being goth, they are more gothic. Favoring Poe, and other classic writers, cathedrals and old films. Poetry and art are also widely popular.
Emotional and dark, Romantic goths dress in velvets and lace. They see the beauty in the dark and in many was resemble the Romantic movement in the late 1800's. Dark candles, skulls and black roses are classic home decor.
Music is ethereal or folk instead of the gory and loud. But classical music is always loved.

Cyber Goth
Well i am not one for bright colors but some are, and we must respect their colorful wishes. Completely opposite of the dark brooding nature of many goth subcultures Cyber goths usually wear neon colors.
They will sometimes wear multy colored yarn dreds, and of course respirators are always welcome.

I will be posting way more often as August comes around, FYI
